Freight Association Seeks to Inspire the Next Generation

The freight trade association, representing the UK’s freight forwarding and logistics sector, is launching an inspiring campaign. The campaign’s purpose is to encourage members to coordinate with schools to promote logistics careers. Before its launch, there weren’t any specific efforts to encourage students to consider careers working in the forwarding and supply chain.

The BIFA’s Involvement

The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has plans to equip its members with promotional materials for students. These assets will promote freight and logistics careers to students looking for options on what to pursue after graduation. BIFA members will receive the literature and materials beforehand to build strategies for promotion.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Logistical Professionals

These new promotional materials and campaigns are part of a more comprehensive industry program to help members communicate with students interested in the logistics industry. Its goal is to help members highlight and explain available routes when choosing career paths. This includes identifying core values and behaviors necessary when applying for logistics jobs. They will also be able to provide actionable advice to encourage young people to look outside the box when it comes to career choices.

Starting Locally

While the campaign is regionally centric, the trade association hopes the new literature will inspire members to take action locally. Schools need more engagement with potential employers, but it’s hard to know where to start. Hopefully, this new campaign will bridge that gap while encouraging the next generation to look at the logistics industry with promise. This could be a more coordinated effort to provide internships and apprenticeships, as well as new training programs for young potential employees.

Logistics has so much to offer the next generation with an ever-evolving industry and exciting new technological advancements. We’re excited to see where it leads!
